What to expect during Dry Needling
-
Initial Consultation.
During an initial consultation for dry needling, you'll typically discuss your medical history, current pain or discomfort, and treatment goals. We will then explain how dry needling works and what the procedure entails. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns before proceeding. The consultation ensures the treatment is safe and tailored to your specific needs.

Treatment.
During a dry needling treatment, fine, sterile needles are inserted into specific trigger points or tight muscle areas to relieve tension and pain. You may feel a brief, sharp sensation, however, this is a normal reaction and indicates that the treatment is targeting the right area. The needles are typically left in place for a few minutes while the muscles relax. The experience is usually not painful, though you might feel some temporary soreness or tenderness afterward, similar to post-workout soreness.

Post Treatment.
After a dry needling treatment, you might experience some mild soreness but it is rare to feel discomfort post dry needling. It's important to stay hydrated, rest, and avoid strenuous activities to aid recovery. Some people find that their muscles feel more relaxed, and their range of motion improves after the session.
